Guys help! My dealer just called and if I buy a white base, I can get 1000 off sticker. No joke. I don't know what to do. I wanted a MBP, but he wants to give me a deal on the white because he says he has too many.

HELP!

Hi Murray:

___Where is this at anyway! Let me know as well. If only the 03 TW Base had the yet to be seen Quartz interior, I might take the drive tonight! Well at least pick up a ticket for a Greyhound bus ride … Reply at your earliest convenience. Better yet, reply ASAP as I may have another place to consider since I am still almost 2 months out for our own 03 TW w/ Quartz Base X on order just North of Chicago :(

___Does it sound like I am in a hurry? No way! I am just trying to receive it before its to cold to apply Zaino :D

___Good Luck

If you don't like a white one, then why getting it !

Sometime, we prefer to pay a little more and not any regret later.
murray
That would be quite a schlep. I'm in So. CA. I'll tell you all which dealership if I buy it tomorrow :2:

Is this good? Would you guys bite? What is going on? Are the 03's just not as hot as the 02's were?

Hi Murray:

___Yes, A California trek would be a bit much :(

___As for the 03 X pricing, I have only been a member here for a few months and have never seen so many MSRP w/ no forced options stories … I wonder what that Hawaii dealer that was at something like $5,000 over MSRP is doing? I believe the Corporate Acura allotment and holdback strong arm techniques are working finally but under invoice for an 03 and in California! Are you all having a depression out there or something? That is a darn good price if you are looking for an 03 Base in TW that is …

The '03s have a lot more competition than the '02s did. And the "first on your block" factor is definitely gone. Also, I think production is up from the 02 production. Add to this mix the fact that the economy is in the dumper and it's understandable that there may be a reduced demand/increase supply.
DevExpert
xcel, if you don't mind driving to Michigan (~40 miles north of Detroit) the dealer where I am going to pick up my Silver w/ Touring tomorrow has couple of '03 and bunch of '02's... I was waiting for '03 base but '03 w/ Touring showed up so I cannot resist :2:

It seems though that MDX's are not selling like hot-cakes at least here. He's got lot of them on the lot. Check out the http://www.suburbancollection.com/loc-acura/
There is online inventory...

Good luck...

Hi DevExpert:

___Thanks for the tip and the link. I just E-Mailed Suburban Acura and if they come back with some kind of discount with a close to similar time frame, I will be purchasing that Greyhound bus ticket after all ;)

___I spoke with a Tennessee dealership just the other day that said they could order an 03 TW w/ Quartz - Base trim and have it in at ~ the same time frame that the Chicago dealer we ordered our X from will (second week in December) and it has been on order for over 2 months! I know the MOVE process just recently allowed dealers to order Quartz interior X’s but if I am going to wait, I may as well wait with a slight discount ahead of me if you know what I mean …

___Thanks again for the link and hopefully I will hear back from them very soon …

xcel,

Please update us what deal you are able to get :>
murray
He just called. 1000 off MSRP, if I buy the roof rack for 288 (which I want). He said he would hold it until I get off work tonight. I don't know what to do.
vincliu
murray,

Which dealer and location?
What other color he has in the lot.
xcel
Hi Vincliu:

___The best I have seen personally is $500 under MSRP + some DIO’s for an 02 last month. Other than that … well I have been sitting here waiting and waiting and waiting … And all at MSRP :(

___Murray, if it’s the color and trim you want, BUY IT!

___Good Luck

Wow.....that's a great deal !!!! As for myself, my dealers selling me an 03 MDX Tour/Navi at MSRP plus he'll through in the protection package (all-season floor mats, cargo tran and wheel locks) and 6 oil changes. Mine should be coming in late December
DevExpert
Excel,

I think that from Suburban you can get ~$1000-$2000 off of the MSRP for '02's. I know that for sure. You've seen how many they have on the lot. I don't think they will give any discount on '03's but I will try to get something from them...

Hi DevExpert:

___After your post, I checked Suburban Acura’s inventory and they sure do have quite a few 02 and 03 X’s left in stock? I have never heard of a dealer with 17 X’s on the lot! It wasn’t that long ago when I remember seeing just 2 X’s in total on a two lots locally so at least there is hope for all X interested parties to get a deal in the not to distant future …

___Good Luck with your new Touring X and again, thanks for the link.

murray,
Any decision yet? I'm also in So Cal so I would be interested in talking with the dealership in question to save some money. Luckily, my existing car can allow me to wait.

I'm going to call him now... but my wife wants to see the MBP. She is making me nuts. I think if I bought this, I would be the first dude on this forum to score a deal like that. God knows I've waited long enough for it. All the dealerships in So. Cal know me by first name.
SonShine
Good luck with your purchase - but make sure your wife likes the color (unless the X will be yours). My wife had her heart set on Granite Green which was discontinued by the time we started looking. I managed to find one at MSRP configured the way we wanted (base, no options), but I'll bet it would have been a tough sell for me getting her to take a different color (even with a price discount!!). Then again, the X is really hers, so...

I stopped by Solano Acura in Fairfield, CA today. They seemed to have quite a few Base models and Touring-RES models being built in November that are not yet claimed. All their Touring-Nav units are accounted for. It looked like no one had yet bought a RES model.

Troy Houchins, their Internet sales rep, months ago said he'd sell at MSRP without forced accessories. In person, other sales personnel were requiring forced accessories.

Hi DevExpert:

___Did you receive your SS Touring X yesterday? If so, congrats are in order!

___I E-Mailed a long reply to Michelle of Suburban (she’s their Internet sales point of contact) after 4 back and forths w/ a good offer so we will see what comes of it. I did include a nice little kicker in the final sentence that you may indeed profit from yourself!

Finally, I was referred to you from an acquaintance that picked up his 03 Starlight Silver Metallic - Touring trimmed MDX from your dealership just yesterday. If there is a referral gift, I would definitely like him to receive it. Just let me know.
___I knew you would like that ;) Who knows, maybe they will offer you a few free oil changes or maybe even an Acura MDX cap :D

___Good Luck and enjoy the new X

Yes I did pick up my MDX yesterday and immediately started enjoining it :2:

Thank you for dropping that note; nobody mentioned anything during the sale time though. I hope that you get the acceptable deal on the vehicle you are looking for. They were very professional when I was working with them and there was not much pushing… :awais:

Thanks again and good luck. Keep us posted on what happens…..

I actually have a quote on an '03 Touring w/ side steps, towing package, & cargo tray for almost $1k below MSRP...going to think about it over the weekend. Any advice? Go for it?

if it is the right color for you, I will go for it even without those free accessories......... with accessories, you are saving more than $2k after the dealer's installation......

The white base is still there.... :3: If any of you want a little discount 500-1000 on a white base 03 it's at Alhambra in So. Cal. My wife and I want to wait and get the sage brush. Have any of you seen this yet? Is it nice?
miro
Well, guys, we picked up the Light Blue one yesterday and absolutely love the color. The first time Acura came up with that color we liked it and that was the one that we ordered.

Murray,

Just wondering....what's the name of the salesman you worked with? I might be interested. Thanks
murray
I don't know how to spell it, but it is sail like "Min".
