Hi all,
Picking up the Mesa Beige in a few days/weeks. I have a couple of questions:
1. King Acura (Birmingham) is charging $648 for the towing package (hitch and two coolers). How does that compare to other dealers?
2. 6 disc changer added to the base system. What brand can I use? Has anybody actually added a third party changer (ie Alpine) and have the factory stereo control it? If so, how do you still use the single disc player from the factory after the changer is installed?
Thanks for any info,
John

| Acura dealer in San Antonio quoted me $1400. for the trail hitch package. I've since found the parts for $428.00 uninstalled. When I ran the pricing model on the Acura site they quoted the hitch package as $619. Since I do not have the vehicle yet, I have not pressed the dealer on his "greed" but will when the time comes. Hope this info helps. Rich |

An Alpine 6-disc changer will definitely work with the cable adapter available from just about any Alpine dealer (<$40.00). I got the Acura changer installed from the dealer (he BEAT internet pricing - good guys!) for $425.00 installed which is very close to using Alpine. The advantage is that it is covered under the new car warranty.
Yes, the single CD in the head unit does still work - you press the CD button once for the single and again for the changer. BTW, the changer mounts under the driver seat - totally cool :-) |
