Well...I have to say .....that I HIT in Atlantic City!!
I won $700 on BlackJack last night, and walked away !!
I'm very happy about that.
I got great miles to the gallon going down and coming home.
Averaged 23.8 - 24.1 all the way !! ALRIGHT !!!!!
The trip was very smooth and comfortable.
I opened up the engine. I took her up to 100mph.
She had complete control at that speed too!
All in all...a great trip...great weather...great SUV and came home up $700 !!
Sweetness !!

Extremely happy to know that not everyone who wants to own an MDX is a "Mom-with-my-precious-kids-need-lots-of-space-minivan" type. I'm single (not yet an MDX owner), don't need tons of space, but absolutely love the MDX nevertheless for other reasons and am glad to know that there are SINGLE people WITHOUT kids in this club too!!! :D |

Hey Vicpai, I'm not single and I do have kids and a dog but (please don't tell my wife this..) I didn't buy the MDX for them! I bought it because I need the room to carry my bikes back and forth to races, I need the 4 wheel drive for the snow, etc. I "need" the luxury and toys because I'm approaching 40 (yipes!) and I needed a mid life crisis buggy. So the MDX is a cross of all that stuff...oh yeh and when I do travel with the kids, wife, and dog, they fit too!
Mine was never meant to be a soccer Mom bus! |

Another single guy here awaiting arrival Love the car - don't need it - can afford it. No other justification needed in my mind.
p.s. Went to dinner last night and saw 3 MDX's during the course of the night. They are beginning to hit the road. I had barely seen 3 since they were introduced. |

I'm another single MDX owner. West coast, SF Bay Area. I owned a '78 FJ40 Landcruiser for the first 7 years of my driving life. After sedans for about 5 years, I just had to get back to a 4X and I thought I'd do it in style!

MDX-Wannabe--
I ordered my MDX in January and I'm expecting it in April. Where I live I've only seen 1 MDX. There are no MDX dealers in my area (except for a Honda dealer that deals with used Acura's) and as many times as I've been to Chicago in the past 3 to 4 months the only MDX's I seen are at the dealership. I'm real excited to have the first one where I live.
By the way Acura4life congrats on your trip.
By-the-way I'm married with 2 kids. 31 years old with a boy that's 10 1/2 and a girl that's 8. A proud mother of them too.

| I know this is a little off subject. But seeing 3 MDX's in one night seems like a lot. So far, I have only seen one MDX on the road and that one happens to be mine! |

I thought it seemed like a lot as well, however, I live in the Dallas/Ft.Worth metroplex. They say everything's big in Texas, so I guess that includes the number of MDX's on the road.
BTW, I saw a GG, MB, and DE. They all appeared to be Touring's. |

Hey Danny!
Join the club........and Don't worry I won't tell your wife. I hope I didn't offend anyone with that remark - It's just that I didn't like the MDX portrayed as - you said it - a "Soccer Mom Bus" - like those Ford Expeditions and Excursions you see cruisin around. I'm 27 and I don't see many people in my age range seeing themselves in an MDX, but I don't care, I just love this vehicle for what it does - fairly good off-road capability and great toys - Fantastic Navigation system with all the other goodies!!! |

The MDX is for large dogs or 4 golf bags plus the foursome to go along with them. Mini-vans are for hauling people, SUVs are for hauling stuff and bad driving conditions IMHO. Married (12 years time served) with 4 dependents - 3 cats and one very large dog! A note of caution to you single guys, beware of predatory females looking to marry you for your MDX. In this new millenium it might be considered a male dowry!!
I apologize for this eruption of male bonding but I couldn't help myself! I guess I will have to try to spend the rest of the day getting in touch with my feminine side. |

Glad you won, but the smartest thing you did was walk away AFTER winning...too many stay and give it back.
My MDX is for golf trips and trips to the mountains to play in the snow.
Will attenpt to tow a 22 footer this summer...I am hoping the MDX can handle it. It has been great so far...700 miles.

Hey A4L,
Do you attribute your luck (winning) to your MDX, or are you just plain lucky? I'm asking because I might drive down to AC myself one of these days. Who knows, I may end up winning, too! |

Look at all of this support!!!
Thanx all!
:D
I'm 27, single & live in North New Jersey....for the record.
I think the MDX is a good luck charm.
Never won this big until I drove the MDX down there.
I'm going back to Atlantic City again, in 3 weeks, for my friend's birthday on March 17th - St. Patty's day !!!!
Looking to hit BIG again !!!
I'll keep ya' posted.
If anyone wants to join me:
I'll be at Bally's Casino playing Green chips ($25 minimum) at the BlackJack table !!!! Saturday 03/17/01 in the afternoon. I'll be hitting Club De-Ja-Vou or Casba' at night with the boyz. A little drinking...a little dancin'........:D

Glad to see you solved your mileage problem or you would have to spend all that loot you just won on gasoline instead of more fun things!! |
