After extensive research i have decide to go with
Pioneer ($1500 less than Alpine)
Nav-sys 900dvd (will replace the factory bose radio with flip out screen)
12 disc changer
sdv-p7 dvd player
7" flip down screen for 2nd and 3rd row
It is costing me $3500 dollars
need your help with these questions:
1) Is pioneer a good choice for nav and entertainment system
2)will my steering wheel controls work with the pioneer
3)Have lot of emotional difficulty getting rid of factory intalled bose radio.

So then why get rid of the factory radio? You can work around that, both audio and video wise.

pioneer make good quality monitors and navigation. It was my other choice aside from kenwood navi/monitor set up. I just wished they had tochscreen like the kenwood i put in my wie's Highlander. But I do envy the Pioneer's monitor that can auto switch to rear back up camera when you put the gear in reverse. The Pioneer's voice control on the navi is also impressive.

I'm sure you'll love your set up
good luck

If have to go aftermarket go with the Alpine System Only, the others are not as good. Also Acura even uses Alpine for there Navagation System.

Rehman,

I have been looking for an aftermarket Navi system for my MDX. I think Pioneer Navsys900DVD is not only much less expensive than both Kenwood and Alpine but also it can play DVD movie and has voice command. A local electronic technician also told me last night that Pioneer screen is much better than both Kenwood and Alpine. I only wish that Pioneer comes out with a touch screen like Kenwood. But for about $1,800, I would get a lot for the money.

I also have lots of problem replacing the factory Bose CD system because it has a six-disk changer while Pioneer unit only has one. Have you actually installed your system yet? If you did, can you post a picture or two.

Another potential solution in trying to keep the factory CD system (not sure if it is technically doable) is to somehow move it to the coin holder area (right below the existing CD system) and install both the Pioneer screen and Navi unit in the existing CD space.

I wonder if anyone can give me some suggestion?

Thx.

Tom

It looks like you purchased an Alpine Navi unit along with a Panasonic DVD. Is that correct? I was hoping that you had puchased a Pioneer Navi so I can learn something from you.

Your setup looks awesome though.

Thx.

Nope, the screen for the trip computer is not an LCD screen. I believe that the graphics are actually etched onto the glass, you will have to replace the screen if you want to use it for the navi.
