| In addition to protecting the bodyside, has any one found a good solution for door edges? |

I imagine most dealers and peeps will be using something like these:

I haven't tried them myself. This is the same place I bought my prostripe bodyside molding from and I was happy w/it and them.
I'd probably go with the smaller U shaped one (1/4"), but need to be sure you can still close the door once it's on! |

I have installed some that I got at Autozone for a total of about $10 or so.
Super-easy to install! I got them because I park in a garage at the end, where my door could easily hit a concrete wall.
Several things to look for: If the seal is too thick, i.e. if the edge of the door is too close to the matching side of the inside of the door, you may have to push the door closed a little more hard than usual.
I can't live without them.

Rail,
I can see how that'll help for little stones and stuff hitting the hood. U think it's effective for preventing chips and dings on the door edge? I can see chips, maybe, but how 'bout in an application like mytonka's, where you want a little "cushion" for the concrete? Is is soft/pliable when put on, providing some cushion, or is it hard and "plasticky".
If it works for something like the concrete wall, we might have a winner! |

It's soft and pliable... I'm guessing that it's about 2 to 4 millimeters thick. It won't crack or split - and probably won't save the door from being dented if banged really hard into a wall, but it will save the paintwork. I was a little concerned at first that it would be visible against my dark Mahogany - but it's only really visible if you're close to the vehicle, and I think it's worthwhile.
I should also mention that it is applied to the complete door edge, and when I had my pinstripes painted on (after it was applied), he painted over the protective layer without any problems.
My dealer: Valencia Acura (661) 255-3000.
Regards.

Has anyone had the Xpel invisible bra applied? Is it really that transparent? What about installation, does it need to be professionally installed? I'm just not sure I want to add a bug deflector to my MDX.
Thanks |
