OK - I did it - I not have a totally kick-ass stereo system in my MDX (touring/nav). It cost me $2000, but I think that it's worth it. I have a/d/s speakers up front, nakamichi in the back doors and a memphis audio sub in the back. Powering it all is an Infinity Kappa 50x4 + 200x1 amp. We just disconnected the "8th speaker" that sits next to the rear-most dome light. I have no idea why they put that there anyway.
The system was installed by Monney Car Audio in Redwood City, CA and the installation took an entire day. They had the truck stripped of most of the interior panels and had removed the passenger seat. It was quite sight to see - it looked like a car half-way through the assembly line. All of this was to run wires from the head to the amp (stored in the rear compartment where the headrests go) and to replace the stock amps with the Infinity. I was sceptical at first, but it was definitely worth it. It sounds awesome now! |

Hope you enjoy your system for a long time, One question? Did you have the navi on board? If you do how did they solve the problem of not loosing the navi functions?
Complements on your choice. They are great audio gear and should last you a long time. Hey, how about some listening time on your new system? Seriously, have fun with it. If I can ever get a straight answer about the navi then maybe I can slowly get started with the buildup of my system. I'm trying not to over spend this time on this system. I'm going with a simpler system this time around. Keep the good tunes rolling!!!!!!! Keep us posted, maybe you can post some pics of the install. |

Yes I do have the Nav and it actually works better now! The voice wasn't really loud enough for me even though I had it maxed out, but now it's plenty loud.
You don't need to touch the head unit to upgrade your amps, and I assume that the nav system plugs into the head - not the amp. So you can replace the amp without touching the nav at all. That's my impression anyway - I didn't watch the whole install, so maybe they had to do something else.
Sorry - no pics.
I'm leaving for hawaii for two weeks tomorrow, so if you want to take a listen it would have to be after I get back.

| Thank you for the invite for the Bay Area MDX residents for us to audition your system. We would probably take you up on your offer that's if you don't mind. Have fun in Hawaii. Drop us a line when you get back. |

Did you have BOSE system? If so, how did they hook up the amps?
Thanks |
