THIS IS A CLOSER VIEW OF THE HID BALLAST . THE HARNESSES ARE SECURED WITH ZIP TIES TO INSURE THAT THE STAY PLUGGED IN. THE BALLAST IS VERTICAL AND ATTACHED BY DOUBLE SIDED TAPE TO THE PILLAR RIGHT BELOW THE HEAD LIGHT UNITS BUT A LITTLE ABOVE THE FOG LIGHT ASSEMBLIES.

Hey Extreme:
I got a HID kit too! I'm trying to install the ballast, but wondering if the original fuse should be replaced with a 20 amp fuse? |

| You don't have to change the fuse. The ballast will take care of the current that needs to be supplied for the first 2 seconds to get the HID to become stable after it becomes stable the HID only consumes about 35 watts, half of what your oem light bulbs require. |

Still can't get the fuse to connect. Did you have to cut a plastic piece off the 9006 harness so the plug can go down all the way to make a good connection?

| As far as I remember my kit just plugged in but if you are having a problem with connecting the connectors make sure you trim the minimal amount of plastic from the connectors. Take your time in trimming it little by little because it is easier to trim than to put back pieces that you trimmed already. Try cutting a very small piece and file away the rest test fitting it till it fits snugly this way this will ensure that you only take the mininal amount of material needed. Also make sure you use zip tie every connection together to avoid any of the connections from coming loose just in case you hit a big hump or something and make sure the ballast is secured to avoid uneccesay damage to it. Good luck!!!!! Try looking at the pictures closely to see how the connections were zip tied. |
