| This message is primarly directed at Tim but 03 owners could possibly answer. When I saw the 03, the one thing that stuck out was the kick plates on the doors. I like the new metal with the Acura emossed in it. I assume that they will fit in the 01/02. I would like to ask Tim (seeing as how he has the 03' Leather Center Console) if he can put together a package for the kick plates. I for one would be interested in this purchase.(cost taken into consideration) Of course Tim or an owner of both 01/02 and an 03(I do recall their being one such person) would need to verify if they can be fitted to the "older" model MDX's. Thanks. |

I had previously PM'ed Tim about the door sill plates. Below is his reply...
"Seems they're 65.19 each for the rears, and 76.37 each for the fronts, shipping included. I can get them if you wish." |

| OMG that is crazy. When you say each do you mean "EACH" or fronts are 76.37(pair)and rears are 65.19(pair). Come friggen on. A leather wrapped center console with pre-moulded cupholders for 30.00 and that much for plastic sill plates? Is there anyone who is interested in a buy if Tim can quote a price that is somewhat "palatable". |

I'd be interested, but not at those prices!! Even if they are per pair prices that Tim posted, they are still way too high....$50 per set would seem like a "reasonable" number. |

| I recently took delivery on my new '03 X and was surprised and delighted by the detail on the door kick plates. Then I had a flashback on what they looked like on my '01 X and other cars (tough to keep it new looking with kids et. al). Does anyone have an idea as to how to protect the chrome finish from getting beat up too much (short of having everyone take their shoes off upon entering)??? |

Wow. I've got an '03 Touring, so I have the chrome already. Only problem is that now I have to worry about gangs of car thieves breaking into my car and stealing my kick plates! There's already a black market on airbags NAVs and HIDs... is this the next most-stolen-accessory?
If mine turn up missing someday, everyone on this thread gets a visit from Columbo. ;) |
