I just noticed that my new '03 MDX has a vertical line through the drivers door handle.
IMO, it looks like a defect.
Is that a defect or feature?

Lots of glare in the pic, but it looks like a scratch to me. However, it seems unusually straight to be a scratch.
On second thought, I dunno! |

It's got to be a defect or was damaged during manufacture. I doubt that anyone could have scratched it that straight when on the door.
Check the passenger handle and I bet you will not see a line like that. Just looked at mine (02) and they were both lineless. |

I checked it against all the other doors and it is lineless also.
Not sure if it is hard to replace. I am thinking of just leaving it and maybe bring it up during servicing. |

This should be covered under warranty. Have the dealer replace it. |

I had a similar faint line on my Pilot's roof when I got it. It was from tape they ship it with and could be rubbed off by wetting your finger and rubbing back and forth over the line.
Worth a try. |

I had that also, I think it was from the shipping plastic tapes.
This defect is part of the chrome door handle.
Anyone else see any defects in their MDX that they would like to share (besides mechanical)? |

Brought it to a dealer near work to order parts on Tuesday and the part arrived on Thursday and got it done on Thursday.
It's a defect. |
