I would venture to bet that quite a few "clueless tuners" have spent WAY more than $4K and gotten near zero improvement in power!
Bolting that supercharger to a 4Runner ought to be quite a grin inducing experience... |

| Without that, the stock 4Runner V8 sprints from 0 to 60 in 7.8 secs (Motor Trend figures)..........With that it should be an absolute ROCKET ..........but I'm sure there will be a fuel mileage and noise penalty that goes with it!, and that would be a cryin shame, especially the "noise" part, because this new 4Runner is quite possibly the quietest SUV out there, bar it's cousin the GX 470 and other sibling the LX 470 (actually, believe it or not the LX 470 I test drove sometime back seemed a tad bit noisier on acceleration - probably because the engine was so underpowered for the 5400lb weight of the vehicle - by comparison the 4Runner, which uses the exact same engine tweaked for 5 more hp, is almost 1000lbs lighter   with a 5-speed tranny and better aerodynamics to boot) ..........As a matter of fact the 4Runner seemed quieter than many luxury sedans I've sampled which is really incredible  |

Holy cow!
that's 12.5 lb/hp, and 10.65 lbs/ft-lb of torque(based on 4420 lb wt. of the 4runner).
man, that's boxster territory. |
