I learn more about the Navi everyday. I play with it all the time so maybe I'm stumbling upon something others haven't or I'm the last one to find this stuff, but I thought I would share two "tips" of things I stumbled upon.

1) When trying to locate destintions with the menu, if you hit a button by accident such as "Sort By Distance to Travel" and you really wanted "Sort By Name" you can hit the "Cancel" button on the left and it will return you to the previous screen. In fact any mistake you make you can use Cancel to return you to the previous screen.

2) If you're traveling down a road and want to figure out where you are, you can just touch the screen (where the little red icon is) and the exact Address and GPS info will come up on the screen.

I'm sorry if everyone already knows this but I've had my Navi for a few weeks now and was pleasantly surprised to find these two little features.
dancall,
If I had my MDX now I would be getting callouses on my fingers from probing the navigation system. Have fun and feel no shame.
Hey, what about the off-road features? I found it once before, but can't find it now. When I was in Northern Michigan, my brother in laws raod wasn't on the map, so I wanted to save the place and do the "bread crumb" stuff. I couldn't find it. Anyone know where it is?

From memory... Your mileage may vary.

Under setup, others, icons displayed on map, very bottom there's an option for off-road tracking (or some such). You select this and, I believe, you get the bread crumbs. Also, if you select ATM's, Gas Stations, Resturaunts, etc, they can also be setup to show up on the moving map.

wired64 stole my thunder ;)

If anyone hasn't picked up on the gas station icon, you should. It's one of my favorite features. I was driving through Los Angeles, and I needed gas pretty bad, flipped it on, voila, 3 exits down, a couple pop up on the screen just off the highway. If I didn't have that feature, I might have wasted valuable time checking out each exit along the way.

Also, if you hit the North Arrow, it will change the orientation of the screen. You can have the screen always face north, or leave it as normal where the car always faces north.

NAVI is definitely worth it! I know some say they could print out a million maps for the price of the NAVI, but really, when you need it most, you don't have time to run back to your house and print out directions. It's like insurance, you never need it or want to pay for it, until you really NEED it.
I finally figured out the "History" button question... Why is it sometimes greyed out?!?

Happened to me today, and found out that my Navi system was still at the disclaimer page. Once I touched the OK button to get to the main Navigation menu, I was able to go back to the Trip screen and then go see my History! Yeah!!!
Hi there!
The Acura Navigation system in FANTASTIC, except for the fact that it's detailed (street level addresses) coverage of smaller towns and cities in not complete at this time. The company which supplies the mapping database for Acura/Alpine is called Navtech and they promise "full-coverage" for the entire United States within a year or so. Does anyone know what their definition of full coverage is?? Are they going to have detailed coverage for ALL the cities and towns of the U.S. over a certain population??? or do they mean full coverage of only all of the major metropolitan areas in the U.S.????
