| My X is due for its 3750 service, and since the local dealer's service dept. has refused to give me loaner when I drop it off there, I have decided to get someone else to do it. Do I need to get the filter and oil from the Acura dealer first? If not, what do I need to get? Thanks, bdmd |

The MDX (and many other Honda products) requires a crush washer on the oil pan drain plug.
BY law you can use ANY OEM grade replacement for the washer, oil filter et cetera, but you might want to stock-up on such stuff from our favorite sponsor-- hondaacuraworld.com...
BTW Same treatment for 'loaners' is on another thread and the oil filte/washer r info come up when use the search function... |

I'd imagine your local guy will have oil, no? 5w30. If it's a buddy in a garage, then just get it @ any autoparts store. Local guy also should have filters -- they're pretty standard across Hondas/Acuras.
If not: Cheapest filters/washers from Tim. Otherwise, I'd buy it @ Honda (just ask for the Pilot's filter/washer). Our local Honda dealer is 3 bucks less for a filter than the Acura dealer. |
