Here's a problem that has been creeping up on me in recent weeks. My 02 MDX (which I love, by the way) NAV - 11k miles - generally can't find satellites. I say generally, because every other time I go out, I can usually get yellow or even green bars. However, more and more often I get little reception.
Checking the diagnostic screen at these times, I see that I can get only 1 or 2 satellites (always 1, usually 2). This is when I'm driving around the suburbs or on the open road, so I have an unimpeded view of the sky. Trips as long as 45 minutes will yield no more than 2 satellites, so it doesn't seem to be a time thing. And since I am picking up satellites, it doesn't seem to be a hardware bug.
Anyone have any thoughts? Has anyone else experienced this?

| Where are you located? Sounds like its a software problem. Go to the dealer and ask for a new disc-my .02. Someone else on here might know something else. Hope you get it fixed, having no NAV is a bummer!:( |

| You do not have anything over the antenna do you? If not, it is probably a hardware problem, possibly as simple as an antenna connection. Have the dealer check it out. |

There's nothing over the antenna. Very odd, because all morning (and much of this past week) it could find no satellites. This afternoon, it was yellow and green with no problems. If a hardware, or even a software problem, I would have expected more consistency to the problem. Again, it always finds 1 or 2 satellites - if it found none, I'd be certain it's a real problem. My fear, of course, is that because of the sporadic nature of the problem, that the dealer will get it during one if its "good" episondes.

The problem may actually be consistent if the sensitivity is marginal. Then it would not work optimally all time, which seems to be the case.
Maybe there is another X at the dealer you can compare it with when it seems to be losing satellites. |

I have the same problem......when it's cold.
All summer I have been driving the same stretch of highway to work, and I always have 3 green bars.
When the temp dips below 35, nothing. The highway goes SE through open countryside. I get no signal for about 10 miles.
Of course, a dealer check said "no problem"
How do you access the diagnostic screen ? |
