Has anyone expereinced anything similar?
Since I picked up my MDX Dec 1, I have always kept the temperature on auto and in the 69 to 72 degrees range where it was always confortable. Which was also the range I used to set the climate control at in my Chrysler.
THis past weekend I installed Joshua Tree wood trim so I cranked up the climate control to 85 degrees to have it nice and toasty for the installation which went great.
However, since then I have to set the temp up to 75 degrees for the same comfort level.
What gives? |

Hey Mesa-
WHat the heck is Joshua Tree Wood Trim anyway?
The inside T sensor is located behind the dash, above your right knee. There is a little set of "gills" and the sensor is behind that.
Not knowing where the trim goes, I'm just guessing, but could it cover this opening? I wouldn't think wood trim could affect thermal mass of the interior. I can't see it affecting the sunlight sensor either.
Did you move anything around that might have unplugged the sensor?
There is a dianostic routine built into the climate system that lets you hold down certain buttons to enter the mode to check sensors. If you're dying to try, let me know and I can post. (Otherwise the wizards at Acura I'm sure will have the answer.)
Only other thing I've noticed is that in the winter, I like it 68 to 72. In the summer, 72-75 is comfortable. But it isn't summer yet...
Weird.

Joshua Tree Wood Trim: http://www.woodtrim.com. I recommend it.
Yes, I am interested to try the dianostic routine built into the climate. How's it done?
thanks

Turn on the key (ignition switch ON but not running)
Hold the AUTO and OFF buttons down simultaneously for "1 minute"
The two 7-segment digits (they look like "8"s) will then flash in a pattern if there are any errors.
Each of the 14 segments has a letter assigned to it, from A to N. Sorry, I won't copy all 14.
Segment A is the left "8", and the top left vertical leg. Segment B is the top left vertical leg on the second (right) 8.
Each of these letter is one of the segments in an "8". The display will flash "88" then whatever code. If there are no errors, you will just get flashing 8s. If there is an error, you'll see 88 then something else.
The interior T sensor short will light segment B. An Open in the T sensor will light segment A.
Sorry, no calibration routines or offsets (unlike my Q)
G luck
