Fireblade,

I was at the same exact spot that you and your wife and your son stood..the Sherman Tree...I was there over last Labor Day weekend...Great Views...it make a man humbled...to see those majestic trees...

You must have a great drive up and sem like you took Hwy 198 up...it is really twisty...I took the long way around..the 168 to the 180 .... wife easily get car sickness..so that way was much easier on her.

Where else di you go up there?? did you go all the way to the end of 180 to Cedar Grove?? Great area!!! for camping..

anyway..love to see more pictures..

Yeah I took the 198 up from Visalia. The road up was really twisty but the MDX handled extremely well...Yeah..I drove clear to the other side of Sequoia...I loved every minute of it...I will post more pictures for you.

Very cool pics Fireblade. You were in my neck of the woods (2 hours max. from my house.) I was planning a trip up there when my out of state kids come over Christmas.
That may be the place for an all-California MDX spring/summer picnic event? It is centrally located in the state, and we could also do a side trip to Yosemite. Anybody else up for that?

Wow, almost like being there. In fact, I wish I was. It's a bit of a drive from Charleston but someday I'd like to do it ...... in fact I think I will. Thanks for the preview.

If you're planning a trip far enough in advance, I'd recommend booking a reservation at one of the places in the park. There are several alternative, from different types of camping to staying in a hotel, all within the park. This saves you the daily drive up and down the mountain -- if I remember right, it takes the better part of an hour one way.

Your pics bring back great memories (even though we didn't have the MDX at the time we went). Fantastic area.

Why didn't you drive a Toyota Sequoia?:2:

Fireblade6
Why didnt I drive a toyota sequoia? Because I think it is a complete waste of money owning Sequoia...You think it is noisy driving a 2001 MDX at 90MPH...Try driving the Sequoia..cross your fingers that it can top 90 and it feels like a Kansas Tornado....

Besides...After seeing what a Sequoia looks like..Toyota have completely made a marketing misrepresentation of the tree and I think that is dispicable..:3:

Great pics of your trip to Sequoia. I go to Yosemite every year and this will be my first with the new '03 X. I have already programmed the Navi to search out Sequoia as a change of venue from Yosemite. Beautiful country we live in huh?:29:
