I honestly don't know - I just took out pearls by the row - making sure there was one left for the jerk to take. I think I just got lucky!

Yes he can be beat. I'm glad loony posted the exact method. I had beat him the first time I played by letting him go first, but "lucked out" on pattern selection. I tried to beat him again - to post the solution (as robyjo asked) & couldn't. :confused:
My son had also beat him & then couldn't - so we were wondering if it was a random thing. Anyway thanks to Loony for putting the pattern up :2: |

| I might add that even knowing how to beat him I am still only beating him 1 out of 3 tries . Keeping 3 rows available helps . He'll try to get you with 1 pearl in each of the 3 rows and it's your play , keep 3 rows and get it to his play with 1 pearl in each row . Good luck !!:29: |

Ah Ha! Got him....
Looks like a binary algorthm. It just hit me, as a kid, I figured out packman and ms. packman patterns. Every game has a built in pattern.... Only problem so far as I figured out 1 pattern. My guess is he has at least 2 or 3 more. I've got him cornered....
in base 2 you have a 1's place, 2's place, 4's place, etc.
hence,
1= 0 0 1
2= 0 1 0
3= 0 1 1
4= 1 0 0
5= 1 0 1
6= 1 1 0
each digit must be even, (4's place)
But so far, this algorithm is 30% effective, There are other mutations I haven't figured out YET! :14:
Another thing. There is a random CHEAT! The Jerk will 'skip' his turn. :3: |

| You want to work toward's any of these formation's with HIM ( the oily ,slimy #%*!! & #^*%! ) picking first 1-1-1 , 1-2-3 , 1-5-4 and get him to pick 1st in a 4-4 , 2-2 or 3-3 . Try those for starter's and keep these in mind when you are starting the game . :4: |
