How About an After Market Dead Pedal? - Click HERE for Original Thread

When I test drove the X one of my few complaints was the lack of a "dead pedal" for my left foot. I see a lot of folks out there coming up with machine turn door locks fancy brake and gas pedals etc. How about a well designed left foot "dead pedal"?

I think the dead pedal will be hard to install as the parking brake actually blocks where the dead pedal should go. I always have to shove my left food under the parking brake to stretch out my legs.

Your right, but, there's some clever folks out there maybe they'll come up with something. That dead pedal is really important when you're off-roading.

Actually, it was very easy. I just got a dead pedal from an 86accord, bent it a little, and drilled holes through the wheel well, bolted it on, sprayed some rust proofing on it, and it feels so muchbetter than that thing they put there now. Do a "dead pedal "search. I think it was first done to an oddysey by someone. That is where I got the idea. You should see the arm rests I made. (yes I like to be comfortable on long trips).

Interesting. I never really felt that the dead pedal was "missing". I find the "rest" area on the MDX is a perfect location for my foot even on long trips. Mind you, I'm 6'1. I guess it's a subjective thing.

My opinion was based on a 4 hour test drive, so maybe it'll be just fine once I get my X and have a chance to put a few miles on it. However, my first thought was I didn't have a place for my left foot. I'm 6' 4" and generally have a tough time finding room for my legs. I've heard other folks on the forum express the same thoughts on the dead pedal and wondered if anyone had come up with a good idea. It appears they have. Thanks for the though.

here's a link:

however, notice the difference in the parking brake pedal shaft....might be problematic in the MDX vs Odyssey...

Thanks for the link, looks pretty staight forward. Once I get my X I'll have an option if I don't like the setup.
