I realize that I stated earlier I would choose not to read this thread, however, human nature compells me to want to know what's being said about me regarding this subject! Most of you here should thank me since it has revived an old favorite thread of yours resulting in more tantalizing art for your enjoyment. Like I said earlier, the photos I found offensive were the ones with see through clothing, I do not find fault or blame for the other photos. Regarding your opinion that these are not pornographic according to the dictionary, did you take the time to look the word up? My Webster's dictionary gives this definition for pornography: 1. writings, PHOTOGRAPHS, movies, etc., intended to arouse sexual excitement. Now men, please don't try to tell me that these pictures don't arouse a little excitement in your groin! I already know what you're going to say to this: "This is our right; freedom of speech." Well I guess you're right, but I also have the right to express mine as Excalibur respectfully pointed out. I just thought maybe it might matter to some of you that some of us women don't appreciate SOME of the images you are posting. I can appreciate beauty and physically fit bodies, it is a high priority of mine in my own life, this is just a personal issue of mine. I'm very sensitive to pornography because of my own experiences, so I apologize if I blew it out of proportion a bit in a moment of anger.:bonk: |

As I said before I am very sensitive to your feelings; I too am opposed to pornography. I am very familiar with the various dictionary definitions of pornography - they are somewhat variable and ambiguous. On the other hand OBSCENITY is very specifically defined and ILLEGAL!!
I will concede that the J Lo photo could be called pornography by some definitions and I also concede that the purpose of the video (from which the photos came from) are meant to titillate and arouse. Some major dictionaries add the conditon that pornographic materials need to arouse "lust" which is a stronger emotion than simply arouse. I confess that I tend to consider material pornographic that seeks lust as its aim. Also I believe that most people, as evident in this discussion, equate pornography with OBSCENITY. There is a difference; both materially and legally. I believe that you yourself recognize the difference by calling it "soft porn" as opposed to "hardcore"
Note I reposted the tennis photo (and even made light of it) because there is no way photos of a woman playing tennis can be defined as pornographic. Now I will concede that her outfit is in poor taste and not appropriate for the sport of tennis (neither are the Williams' sisters revealing outfits; or Capriatti's headlight blaring outfits) but they are not pornographic. |

Ok, of the 3 listed, Britney is the most entertaining (one day flipping off the crowd, next day claiming to be a virgin ?), Christina has the best singing voice, and J Lo is the most interesting (come on-a personal nipple pincher?), but neither distances herself from the others IMHO . . .
As for Lisab, you go girl ! with only 16 posts she is using threads like this to up her post count ! Seriously, I promise you this, if you start a thread for the hottest Beefcake, I will respect your right and not post objections (actually I probably will not even notice) and the other lady members of our site can hoot & holler & howl to their heart's content . . . |
