| I just finished installing the moonroof deflector I got from Tim, and found the instructions to be, um, vague. Right up to the point where you actually try to hook the clips between the outer and inner lips they are OK, but this just didn't work. What I ended up doing, after an hour of, let's just say "fussing" with it, was to remove the nuts and hook the clips by themselves between the lips. The protective tape is just thick enough to hold the clip in place. It takes a bit of dexterity, but you can then put the screw through the hole in the clip and install the nut. The deflector is still loose enough to make small adjustments, if necessary. This will be easier if you have a helper available. BTW, the instructions that were included were to a 2000 TL. I downloaded the instructions from Tim's site. No different, except that the MDX instructions mention cleaning the area for the tape with alcohol first. Now that it's on, I'm very happy with the deflector. The wind noise is less, and doesn't start until about 45 MPH. Sorry for the long post, but I just wanted to pass this info along. Maybe it will save someone else a little frustration. :3: |

Good observations there. I spent some time going back and forth to adjust the clearance as I tightened each side up.
Also longer bolts would enable you to get the nuts started sooner with less fidgeting.
But all in all, it's quite effective. |

What are your early impressions regarding your new moonroof deflectors? |

| It took me longer to install the moon roof visor than it did to install the rear wind deflector. |

It definitely reduces the noise with the moonroof slid open. If you only tilt, it does not have much effect. |

| I agree. It seems to be fairly effective at reducing wind noise except when the roof is tilted. |

just wanted to bump this thread.
I received my visor today and tried installing based on instruction set. I was about to throw the visor onto the street cause it was so frustrating. Did a search and found this thread and it took 10 minutes to install after I had spent already 2 hours on this. |

There are two problems:
1) The instructions make it seem ridiculously simple.
2) Reality makes it ridiculously difficult. |

Exactly. I'm glad I wasn't the only one to think so.:4: |

| Was thinking about getting the moonroof deflector, has anyone had problems with dirt getting under it and scratching the paint? |

| I agree... the visor is easy to install while at the same time its a helluva lot more difficult than it looks. I only put my visor on when the car was clean so I wouldnt scratch the paint. I hope this helps. |

Hi alluu -
From a different thread you said you bought your sage brush MDX from Gunn Acura and shipped to you to the bay area. I assume you have received your MDX. Can you share your experince with us about the shipping company? Are you satisfied with them?
Thanks! |
