Has anyone found some after-market fender flares out there yet?
I did a search of the forum to no avail..:confused: |

For what it's worth, I just installed my fender flares (Acura OEM)
from Tim and all I can say is WOW! I ordered them unpainted and held them in place and had a look,...the grey didn't look right with my Sandstone, so I had them body color matched locally. then installed. I like the OEM's because they are subtle enough to retain the "classy" look of the MDX, yet give it a definite SUV edge..
The body color on them really works well, in contrast to a neighbor of mine who has a pathfinder with black colored fender flares on his gold colored truck...it looks too dramatic, and makes a very good looking SUV look like something that was prepped for a mud bog ralley race or something...they are quite a bit large and more emphasized than my MDX flares. I assume they are Nissan OEM.
Anyway, I don't think you'd be dissappointed with Acura ones...and the fit and finish was bang on, looks like they are integrated as an original part of the body... |

You are right, it is usually hard to beat the OEM fit.

| It was the equivilant of about $150 US...an absolute perfect match. My body shop here actually had to have the MDX there, becasue they said the code alone is not enough to properly match, and there can be slight variants in the tinting within the color code. They said they did about a half dozen slight variations until it was perfect, and quite honestly it is...i've looked in every light and from all angles, and they got it bang on....I think this is why it looks like the flares actually blend into the body, the combination of perfect fit, and perfect paint...good luck... |

I don't remember reading about after-market fender flares. Some have gotten painted tailgate deflector from ebay.
Color matched is the way to go :4: |
