Are chromed side steps Bling!? - Click HERE for Original Thread

Now that I have ruled out the gold emblem kit I am considering what other accessories to get with my Black/Black MDX expected in January. Too bad I couldn't get Black/Tan here in Canada.

I will definitely get side steps but am wondering whether to go with the Acura black or Acura silver (powdercoated?). I can get either from the dealer here in Toronto.

Are the chromed ones too baller/ballin?

Any black MDX with Acura silver step pictures?

I also ordered the rear deflector but after seeing it on a number of MDX's don't really like it any longer. The Black MDX looks good without it IMHO.

Debating about the BSM too. I think it would be a practical addition but don't really like the look of it. Also considering painted black flares.

May spring for the wood wheel and shift knob - they look cool, but very expensive!

Will get the moonroof deflector - I heard it can cut down on wind noise with it open.

So many decisions............

The Acura steps were just released so no one has them installed let alone pics.

Closest you'll see would be mine, Rail's, or msu79gt82's (all powdercoated OEM). Click the link in my sig for pics.

Not bling @ all. A great look.

If you look at the items in my sig, it'll prolly reflect my opinion on the other options you're considering :)

Manik's look great on our MDX's  !! They give the MDX a more aggressive look . :29:

nope.

Too functional.
Afterall automotive "brightwork" is chromed becuase CHROME does wear much better than other finshes.

Heck, that's one reason chrome BUMPERS used to be standard, if/when you bumped somthing you could polish back to new with minimal effort...

No, bling describes the stuff I *haven't* put on my car!

BTW what does bling mean, anyway?

I don't have them, and I'm not considering them.

But I don't think they look bling. Go for it!

According to online Dictionary; BLING is an acronym for Bladed Ring:rolleyes:

It is a kind of onomatopoeia of the sound that often accompanies a cartoonish example of a sparkly item, like crystal, diamonds, jewels...

I'm planning on getting SS Manik's for my TW on order. I am also going to replace/cover the fake wood trim with a polished alum kit or vinyl. I like the agressiveness of the Manik's and they can be found for around $80-100 less than the OEM SS Side Steps.

I also plan on having the back of the mudflaps painted to match the car (white) and possibly either paint or wrap with vinyl the luggage racks. The vinyl I'm looking at is the Avery products that are used for exterior graphics on autos and are warrantied for 9 years.
