I was passing by the dealership where I bought the X and just decided to drop by and started a serious conversation with my sales guy.
He got my car appraised, and is willing to give me 36K. My car only has around 3000 mi. Also I got hit on the passenger side on the 2nd day I own the car. I never got it fixed. I bought the cargo tray and cargo cover from Tim. Long as I buy a vehicle around 36K from them again, than I also save 3K on taxes.
I've got a few days to think about it.
FYI, This is not an Acura dealership. It's an "automall". They buy cars, than sells them back to people. I think they make money off the financing. So they might be offering me a little more than normal. But this should be a good idea for you guys with '02s to estimate how much you can get for your car. |

| I'm just curious, how could you not get the damage fixed after being hit on day 2? I can't imagine driving around in such a great SUV with any kind of damage on it! :8: |

| Doofy: Are you getting rid of your 02' X?? Not sure I understand how the savings on the taxes thing works? Can you elaborate? |

I'm not quite sure yet if I will be getting rid of the car. Just that I was in contact with someone who wanted to buy a used '02 with NAV. But the offer was like 35K. So when I past by the dealer today, I figured I'd might as well see what they would give me.
The tax savings works the same way as a tradein. If I get 36K for tradein. Than for my next vehicle, I won't have to pay taxes on upto 36K of the purchase price. NYC tax is 8.25, so that's about 3K savings. And since I didn't buy from anAcura dealership, I would really be able to choose almost any car I want.
I like the X though. If I trade it in, I would probably want the '03 with NAV and RES. |

I'm jinxed. Every new car I've ever owned got keyed, stolen rims and now hit within the first 2 weeks. With exception to having to buy new wheels (cause I kind of have to ;) ) I never got any of it fixed. Kinda takes the load off of driving in ny.

Yeah Doofy, fix your door. Start a thread to take up a collection if necessary!:14: |

| ... they're asking (expecting) $32. I was getting the TL-S serviced and was just looking around. I do not know how many miles were on it, but it is a Certified Used Acura and looked very clean. |
