I noticed in the C&D comparo test of the 03 MDX that the console of their test car did not show that big fat dial in the middle (right under the CD slot) that's flanked by two LEDs. Rather, it only shows 2 dials on the far sides of the center console.
The car they said was $41K, suggesting it was Touring + Nav.
Well, maybe they made an error, but in the event that it wasn't with Touring package, well then the relatively less features observed by them compared to the Lexus and VW is understandable, as you get quite a lot with the Touring pack. I coulda sworn that the Touring pack (bose stereo with 6-cd changer) is the one with that big fat center dial (that has a red LED on it). Hmm, their silver car shows roof racks though.
So which is it? :confused:
FYI, as you can tell, I'm still one of those sad souls still waiting for their 'X! :( |

Just determined from acura.com that you cannot get NAV without touring package, so it must be that C&D had it. So then that means cars with the big fat center dial is the non-touring cars....FURTHER confusing me, cuz I have seen posts for example from the person with a Sandstone 'X that shows the center dial, AND the nav!
Ok totally confused. :p |

But I just noticed on the very first page, although the angle makes it tough, that silver MDX in C&C mag is definitely rollin' on Touring wheels. Also, I noticed it has memory seats on the driver's door. That's enough evidence (coupled with the mention of it being 41K).
But it doesn't look like they have the BOSE system it seems like.

You only get the center knob/two lcd's with the rear DVD system (RES). Hope that clears up the confusion. |

By just looking down the audio control, I could tell you that is BOSE. You could see the BOSE logo right under the knob where you insert the cassette tape. |

I see. That's what the discrepancy is. RES or not. =)
Well, I saw that writing on the cassette player cover, but I thought it said Acura instead of Bose., thanks guys. |

| The MDX in the picture is a Touring, Nav, RES (189). The "big fat dial" is on RES only. The Premium, Touring, Touring with Nav, have the regular configuration. The Nav. and the RES are available on the Touring model only. |
