Hi all and thanks in advance for your reply,
My tow hitch receiver has what I consider a lot of weld spatter around the receiver tube. Looks like poor quality control to me and was just wondering if anyone else has noticed this as well? Also does the tow package include a wiring pigtail? I assume that it does not include a receiver hitch...just wondering and checking. Anyway, love my MDX. |

Can't comment on the weld splatter. Mine doesn't have much, but it IS a chassis part...
Yes, the tow hitch has a wiring harness included. The installation instructions include both the hitch and an electrical interface/converter box which mounts behind the trim in the rear storage area (where the headrests store). Couldn't quite understand your comment/question in this regard.
As we all know, NOW the Acura tow package includes the above, PLUS two coolers (transmission and power steering). (These coolers are mounted in front of the radiator, and will look like 4 tubes going across the front, 3 of which will have fins.)

| Thanks...I know it's a chassis part but I'm picky on detailing oh well!!! |

I have no need for the hitch but the transmission oil cooler would be nice to have
as a longevity enhancer.
Does anyone know what the cooler alone costs and what is involved in installing it?
Thanks!
Tom

I've reviewed the instructions from Acura, and they talk about taking off the front bumper cover, but I'd bet some good money that that is NOT required. If you want a copy, I can fax or email.
Check out Tim at Hondacuraworld- my recollection is around $200 for the two coolers.

I installed the trailer hitch and cooler from Tim. Everything fit good but is a little difficult by your self getting the hitch in place. You need something on one side to hold it up while you bolt the other side in place. As for the harness, it comes with the kit and very easy to install. It is nessary to take the front shroud off to install the coolers but instructions are specfic and no problem, get some help so you don't scratch it. It is not heavy, all plastic.
