How to have CLOCK show at all times? - Click HERE for Original Thread

Just got my '03 MDX on Sunday (Touring, Nav, DVD). Greate car! But... couldn't figure out how to have the clock show time. I don't even know where the clock is supposed to show. The only place I saw it, was where you actually adjust the time on one of the setting screens.

I would like to have a clock visible regardless what I do on the screen. Is there a way?

Mine's in the bottom right corner of the screen - if you tap on the clock, it will make it a large display in the center of the screen.

I'm not sure if it 'remembers' this for the next time you boot up your car.

I guess, this is 2003 NAV/DVD specific issue that you don't see a clock.

Some people had posted that there is a clock on the stereo head unit that is on all the time on the 03. If someone could take a picture of it I would like to see where they fit it on that little screen. Thanks

As for Ghost reply: It does indeed remember just make sure to keep wifes "paws" from touching screen because it will retreat to the corner. BTW this is for the 01/02. Not sure what fancy fandangle thing they did with the 03?

I have an '03 also and noticed the same thing until you look closer and see that there is a clock on the right hand LCD display that is normally used to show the status of the rear entertainment system.

The page that you were talking about is for set up only. On the '03 Navi system, I have not been able to find a way to display the time using the Navi screen.

After driving around for a while, it seems better to have the clock understated on the right LCD screen. And if you really want to know the time when you are driving, with the '03 you can use the voice recognition and just say "what time is it?" and it will tell you time without having to look for a clock. Hope this helps. :31:

What's that - you guys don't have a clock?

That's it, I'm staying with my '01!

Well, I really need a clock with BIG numbers in the car. I always drive my kids to school 20 sec. before the bell, so the kids are used to reminding me how much time we have left.

I guess, I'll just buy a clock and stick it on top of the dashboard.

This must be different in the '03 WITH the RES...we have the touring with the navi, and our clock is always displayed on the stereo display...

Is there another clock on the navi that I am missing?

I have 03 Nav no RES.

There is a clock always displayed on the left of the stereo head unit.

If you ask the Nav via voice command: "What time is it?"....the unit says the time out loud.

Now they need the unit to answer the question, "Are we there yet?":D

Are we there yet?

DaleB,

The actual 03 Voice command is "How long to Destination", and it really works!

If your kids are into distance as well as time, there's also the "How far to Destination " command too.

Texrb: Are you tapping the clock with the "starlight" screen on?

Same with me. I have an '02 Tour/Navi. I tap the screen clock in both trip and nav mode and nothing happens.

Turn on vehicle... don't press "ok" on the screen...wait a minute...When screen turns to "stars" picture...tap clock with index finger...slap any hands away that want to touch clock with big numbers cause it will go back to corner...if someone manages to touch screen, just press the clock in the corner again and it will reappear in big numbers in the center again... The big numbers are only visible if you do not press ok when you start up vehicle and yes it remembers the last position of clock... Big clock....or Navigation...but not both...your pick.:29:

hockeyplayer - thanks for the answer - yes I was pressing the clock after I said "ok". It's nice to know that I can have a huge clock if I want - one more screen to look at :4:

Here's a picture of the clock on MDX'03 with RES

I like the look of the new nav screen. I swear that people with the touring w/o nav said that they have a clock on the headunit. Can someone post a picture? I am curious. Thanks

Works with all models, 01-03. (or any other vehicle)

1 Remove wristwatch from left wrist. (right for us lefthanders)

2. Cut band with sheet metal snipers just opposite the watch.

3. Use duct tape on each section of band and attach watch to windshield. Put just under rearview mirror so you don't obstruct frontal vision. :bonk:

Manual shows there is more than one radio setup, and therefore more than one place to put the clock. If you have navi, just say "What time is it" and get the time from the satellite. It might be different than shown on the rear stereo display if you have the NAVI RES version.
gordonweb
Acura should do better to put the clock on the little thermostat display separate from the touchscreen display. That way it will always be on whether the display is on or not.
