| The RES (DVD Entertainment) system is great, but there is a rattle when the screen is down (viewing position). Only rattles when car is moving so it must be something loose. We have not found it yet. This is problem number two on our two-week-old 2003. Our 2001 MDX had no problems (other than weeping mirrors which were fixed) in almost two years. Any suggestions? |

Let's hope that problem will be fixed. Nothing worse than hearing rattles and such on a brand new $40000 plus vehicle. :3:

| I just went to dealer.. They ordered new RES drop down. By the way.. The service at my Subaru dealer is much better.. |

| Mine exhibits the same rattle issue. So you're saying they're going to replace the whole screen unit? |

| Yes, The whole fold down unit...Hope for a fix.. I don't like rattle in ear... |

| I've had some trouble reproducing the rattle. I don't think we are talking about the whole unit or the flip-down screen hinge. That would only rattle if you were on some really rough surface (like a dirt road). What I have heard a few times is a metallic rattle. My guess would be the latch. I haven't taken it in yet, but I will post again when I have more to report. |

| Yes, I also think its the latch.. when screen is not latched I can hear the rattle.. I guess the whole unit is a "over kill" but it should get the problem. |

| Sounds good. I haven't had a chance to look more for the source of the rattle. I still think it's the latch, but it seems to rattle whether the screen is up or down. Problem is I've had so much stuff (strollers, kids toys, etc) in the back of the car lately that I can't really isolate the rattle. I'll set aside some time for a test ride next week. Let us know if the rattle comes back. |
