I am buying a 189 Touring/Navi/RES from them thru Ray Williams. He has offered 1500 off MSRP and it is suppose to be no Document fees, which I am still negotiating. You can tell him what I have been telling him that there should be no documnets fee of $395 for us, group buyers from this forum. You can refer my name Adam Samy and let me have your name so I can refer it to him, we can try to save almost 400. Let me know what happens if you speak to him. you can email me or reply on this forum.

Hi, I am a newbie here and just wanted to say thanks for those who have helped set up this group buy. I did speak with Clay Hienkel at Baranco Acura and he told me 1500.00 off of MSRP, no document fees (395.00) and a package (I forgot the name) that included wheel locks, right off the bat as soon as I mentioned this forum. He seemed eager to accomodate. They did not have anything in stock that I was interested in so he told me to call back to see what he can do. Once again thanks to those who labored to get this together. :)

Hello Adam. Thanks for responding so quickly this morning. My salesman is Stanley Atwater at Baranco. I talked to Ray Williams about 9:30AM, he informed me that there's a document charge of $395.00(including their package). He said the sales manger waived the charge for Wayne (xcel). I'm still working on some details yet (unexpected trade-in). And yes the discount is $1500.00 for any MDX when you mention this forum. So far everything has gone very business like (no pressure tactics). Everyone has been very helpful , probably the best buying experience to date.

Have owned
3 Acuras
5 Hondas

PS. I'm not finished dealing yet.It seems that Ray has current info.

JJTOMA you are right about the documentation fee, it is not waived.
I decided to put in an order with Baranco, discussed prices and accessories only to find out that the wife did not want to go with Baranco because it would put the deliver date of the car AFTER the delivery of our daughter. Staying with the local dealer would put delivery before the delivery of our daughter. I spoke with Clay Hienkel everytime and he virtually bent over backwards to accomodate our needs to include grunt work to ship the MDX to our front door (at our charge of course). I would highly recommend Baranco Acura to anyone in search of purchasing the MDX. These are some figures that we talked about.

1500 off of MSRP
395 documentation fee
added Pro Pack for free (300 value)
Pro Pack includes wheel locks, paint sealant, trunk tray
Towing package 841.00 including installation
Running boards 556 including installation.

Well, a missed opportunity for us, but I hope the info helps
others.:(

Wayne is the guy who worked this out, and told me specifically that its 1500 off MSRP and no doc fee. I told that to Ray who said at first that all of us will get the same deal. Then he changed later saying that the manager will only waive 200 out of 395 fees, and then this morning he said that they will throw in the protection package which includes Wheel Locks, Cargo Mat & Paint protection what ever that means which I think is just BS to justify $300 for it, instead of taking out the doc fees. But I told Ray that its no doc fees or the deal is off, at which he said he will talk to the manager as they are approching year end. I believe if you get determined you may be able to take the 395 doc fee off. Will let you know how it turns out, I am planning to pick the truck soon.
One thing I have noticed that when you mention this forum they listen, and I always remind them the power of this forum which will enable them to get a whole lot of people who come to this forum. I am in New Jersey and going down 800 miles to buy an MDX from them only because I found the information on this forum, and we will mention them good or bad on the forum, its up to them how they can make the best use, of their free publicity.

I'm leaving Sunday morning for Atlanta. Monday morning has been arranged to pick up my wife's sandstone premium MDX. This involves a trade-in(currently we have discussed a range of value but i insisted on a floor price before we would drive from SRQ). I will get the correct answer to the doc fees. I also think a sale this year looks good on the bottom line for Baranco. They have provided bank financing of 3.49%. I'll report back new year's day.

Happy New Year to all!!

PS Thank you Wayne for arranging this group buy.

Hope you enjoy your drive back. Please let us know what happened with the doc fees when you picked up your truck today. I am driving down on New Years Day and plan to pick up my truck on 2nd of Jan. Looking forward to hear your experience both on the dealership and the drive of your new MDX.

towards the end of the year, dealers are obviously more willing to deal. Half an hour of negotiation will land you a good deal.
i almost bought the ticket to fly up to Atlanta to pick up a premium model at a dealer in Marietta, GA but i called it off to save the trouble to travel 600 miles.

I was concerned that the deal had ended at the close of 2002. However, my wife and I just ordered a red touring/navi/RES today at $1,500 off MSRP. Ray told me they had sold about 10 so far to members of this group. It looked like they have several coming in this month unclaimed if you're still looking. We are looking forward to picking ours up at the end of January/first of February!

Thanks to Wayne for setting up this deal.

Hello Everyone
As I promised when I had time, would post reply.
I guess, I should start from the beginning. My wife placed a deposit on a premium MDX on Oct 2nd at our local dealer.(MSRP+499 fees). Delivery about Dec 6th. We found a buyer for her 94' Del Sol and everyone has happy.
Early Dec came and went no MDX, DEl Sol buyer couldn't wait any longer (deferred purchase). Tried selling through paper no luck. Our dealer when questioned about delivery, was now quoting Jan 6th! Watching KGBMOM's frustration (same dealer). I started looking at options(our dealer offered a low trade-in value). Saw this thread and called Baranco Acura. They had the color in stock(sandstone) and they arranged financing through AHFC at 3.49% plus the group discount of $1500.00, we were happy! That was Friday night, on Sat called and gave credit card # for deposit. I checked later on Sat and they said they didn't need to charged the card, made appointment for Monday at 10:00 AM.
So Monday morning we arrive.
Meet the sales staff and waited for our MDX (mean time they check my wife's Del Sol) and offered a fair trade-in value. We waited, waited some more, our salesman came back and asked if we would consider another color, looked at my wife(wearing a new leather outfit she purchased to match the sandstone color) Part 1 see part 2 (sorry long experience!)

Hi Jjtoma:

___I have not received mine yet either so I am very interested in your dealings with them. I am watching Kgbmom’s purchase from the FL. dealership with similar interest as well … Please Post number 2 as soon as you can. Tommyleon has already had an X sold out from under him so please comment asap. From your post, it doesn’t sound good?

___Good Luck

Part 2
It seems our MDX was sold late Sat, no one called before we drove 510 miles on Sun. The different color wouldn't due (even with additional discount). More waiting, offered us a sandstone touring model (same discount, we said no). More waiting, came back offered the touring again, but for $36,000, we talked and accepted their offer.:)
More time passed, now they couldn't offered same trade-in value. I was getting angry(my wife sick!). After a short talk with my wife(she didn't want to drive the Del Sol back to SRQ) I started to negotiate a trade-in value, we came to a agreement ( also threw in burlwood shift knob).
Went in to assit. sales manger ( Anthony Rimey), he did the paper work, questioned about the doc fees differences arose, (threw in wood grain dash)
We were tried (4 1/2 hours). We finally drove off the lot.;)
Lessons learned:
1 never, but never do a long distance trade-in
2 at Baranco, it was explained they only hold ordered cars not stock, 1st come 1st served!
3 They knew they made a huge mistake, finally offered a compensated value for our time and effort
4 They didn't want to get thrashed on this forum See part 3 for numbers
jjtoma

Thanks for sharing your experience, I've also placed my order last week (which is in stock) & schedule to fly to ATL to pick it up next week, your experience (make u switch to different model upon 500+ mile drive) & the questionable business practice of Baranco really gives me second thought about proceeding with this 'deal' .....(or book a round trip flight instead of one way....)
jjtoma
Hello X2003

I think if you contact the sales manager ( or whomever has the highest authority) and get some sort of guarantee, you'll probably be fine. I think this wouldn't happen again. Baranco wants our business( if we get into another downturn, they'll need it).

Good luck

JJTOMA

PS on the way home we avg 74mph and got 21.7mpg using a hand calculator we're very pleased with the vechile;)
xcel
Hi X2003:

___Yes, just call them and verify everything is in order before you make the flight. That is what I plan on doing when mine arrives as it’s a 641 mile drive to Baranco from my door and a 641 mile drive back … Is one of the employees picking you up from Hartsfield? I am kind of interested as I will be driving an Avis rental to Hartsfield and need a ride that last 20 or so miles.

___Jjtoma, that is fantastic mileage you received on your brand new X!

___Good Luck

Hello XCEL

I remember someone at Baranco saying they would pickup a buyer at ATL. Ask Ray.

hi, jjtoma & xcel:

thanks a lot for your input!
BDMDX
Picked up my MDX last week from Baranco. Overall it was OK not great. Got 1500 off MSRP on 189 but paid the DOC fee, in lieu of which they gave wheel locks, Cargo tray, and a head phone, they said that the car has some paint protection but I think that it is simply BS to justify the 395 DOC fee. Sorry for late posting as stoped at the Carolinas on the way and took it nice and easy with my new set of wheels. For those waiting all I can say is that it's worth the wait. I had almost picked up a 02 but dealer price gouging and paying a full sticker prevented me for which I am glad as 03 has some significant improvement over 02 and I love the Sage Brush Color. If you have kids then you will simply love DVD as it keeps them busy and gives you the freedom of listening what ever you want.
Thanks to Wayne & Jim Toma for all your inputs, and to Ray Williams of Baranco to make the deal.:)
jjtoma
Hello BDMDX
I happy for you!. We're delighted with the X. It was worth waiting for the 2003 model. Happy MDXing;)
