Our Navigation System (sorry for those who don't have NAV!)... seems awefully close to Alpine's street model NVE-N851A http://www.alpine1.com/html/details...l=1235&head=90. Now I know that they make our units, but are our Nav's a toned-down version of the ones that they sell on the streets? These street models have an optional attachment kit called "Auto Dial (with Optional Cellular Phone Interface Unit)." I believe they are for popular models such as Motorola, Ericsson, Nokia, etc...
I was wondering if anyone has contacted Alpine directly, or a reseller to see if this add-on would work with our units?!? And what does it exactly do???
As well, there is also a "Video Cable Interface for TME-M750A, CVA-1005 or IVA-C800" that can attach to the NVE-N851A model... will these Interface cables work too???
I am going to a local electronics shop tomorrow to have a hands-free kit installed for my StarTac (would prefer that Cell Phone Interface Unit :)). If I remember, I will ask them these questions as well, since they are an Alpine reseller. If I find out anything useful, I will post it.
But in the meantime, if anyone has an answer, I would greatly appreciate it!!! |

Thanks for the update KK...
But I'm looking more towards the fact that Alpine has an add-on unit to the NAV for cell phones. Just was wondering if anyone has looked into this?!?

xxjiggajaycxx,
Check the thread in KK's post above and if you have any questions PM vicpai who has done extensive research on this topic. He also has installed the Apline unit in his other car.

No, not "possible" to install the Nav after manufacture.
Certainly, anything is possible, but the cost (estimated at $4 to 6k) is impractical. Plus, such a major change woulc imact warranty, etc. An Acura dealership probably would not do it, although for enough $$ perhaps they would.
Change it now if you want it, or sell it and order a new one.

| Change your mind and get it installed with your vehicle NOW. You won't regret it. Trust me. I got more compliments about the Navi. System than anything else in the car. And I will never get lost ;) . Good luck! |
