I recently bought a Compact Disc (CD) labeling program (NEATO) to put great looking labels on my home-burned CDs. Unfortunately, the CD's do not seem to fit into the CD player (2002 touring). Is there a solution to this or has anyone had success in doing this. Perhaps, I applied the lables incorrectly or need a "thinner" label to overlay on the CD

I just purchased a Yamaha CRW-F1 burner, and it uses a laser to etch in graphics and text directyly onto the CD itself. I've had no propblems using them. Sorry, I don't have a solution for you. :(

I have on 03 but have not had any problems with my labeled CD's. I use the CD Stomper program and labels

Just a note to the new owners that the Bose changer doesn't like the labelled cd's and can ,and probably will at one time, jam the changer. Unless you like going to dealership to say "HI" then disregard prior remarks. Do a search for others with same problems.

Use a Sharpie. You don't see stuck-on labels on new CD’s or DVD's do you?:)

I use a sharpie instead of a home-made label for the same reason I don't pay extra for those credit cards with pictures - nobody sees them or cares anyway.

I've read where the labels can sometimes peel back in the heat of the car causing them to jam in the player when you attempt to eject them.

I had a real hard time getting my home-made cd's to eject from my in-dash 6 disc changer in my TL-S -- I'll never make that mistake again! I had to use another CD to pry them out as they were being ejected. I have been looking for slicker labels, but haven't found any, yet.

I have the same problem with the CD Stomper labels. The CDs sometimes get stuck and you have to pry them or push them to get them moving through the rollers. That Yamaha sounds interesting. I'll have to take a look how that works.

On which side? Top or empty available space on data side?

I also use the Neato system, and have not had a problem as long as the complete label is stuck tight -- NO bubbles under it. This is best accomplished by rubbing the label with your fingertip from "center" to "outer edge" all the way around immediately after applying the label. Neato, and probably others, also offer clear labels and gold or silver-foil labels, which MAY be thinner (I don't know).

I have been using the CD Labels that I got from Costco (I believe it is CD Stomper). The CDs never jam in my MDX or any other car CD player.

zafer,

I will say the TOP portion of CD where you normally stick the cd label. The local costco has them. (At least in my area)

Thanx. I saw the box at Costco, but it was near closing time so I couldn't read the box, $113 if I remember correctly. This week Best Butt has it for $80.

edit:
just noticed you're not hammerX, but since you reminded me about it, I checked out Yamaha.com. http://www.yamahamultimedia.com/yec/tech/discta2_01.asp

Here is the scoop:
quote:
Yamaha's DiscT@2 technology allows the user to burn text and graphics onto the data side of a CD-R disc.
quote:
DiscT@2 is an exclusive Yamaha feature that allows text and images to be drawn on the unused portion of a CD-R disc.
quote:
Graphic images can only be placed outside of the already-written area, in order to avoid data loss.

Oops... i am wrong!!!! :o

Yamaha's write-on-the-disc technology HAS to be on the bottom (data side), as the top side is too thin and fragile. The plastic on the bottom is over 10 times the thickness of the plastic (actually, more like lacquer) on the top, so the top has very little protection from damage. Don't believe it? Slap a label on a blank disc, then whack it (bottom side down) against a sharp edge, like a table edge, hard enough to crack the disc. Then peel the label away from the crack, and the data layer (silver on most discs, gold on some) will come off with the label. I think the label gives more protection than the lacquer layer. Yes, you can damage the bottom of a disc, but it's even easier to damage the top -- and NEVER write on a disc with a ballpoint pen!
