| Jamie, I am also going nuts waiting for my new MDX. I ordered a Sandstone/touring/navi at Montano Acura in New Mexico, and the build date seems a bit vague. I was dreading it would be built on New Years eve and was hoping for a build date of this week. The dealer estimates delivery on Jan 10th to the 15th. Thanks---Jeff |

| I found '03 deliveries to be 6-7 weeks. We ordered our '03 Touring, Navi, Res in mid November and picked it up yesterday. Now I just need to get off this computer and go drive it somewhere...anywhere...what a wonderful vehicle |

| FYI..... Honda Financial is offering 3.49% on just about any term up to 60 months. Good deal. We did 42 months which is a hefty pmt but worth it to double up and pay off early with very little finance charge. |

| The Honda Financial page showed it until the 6th, I thought. Makes no difference, though. My MDX won't be in until the 15th to the 18th. After having more troubles than I care to admit with my Mercedes ML-320 , I sold it and the proceeds sit in an account to go toward the Acura. At this time, it looks like I can get a 4.9% rate through Honda on a lease. My guy at Montano Acura ( who has been very helpful and they are selling the MDX at sticker and 10% off the accessories) feels like Honda will soon be offering a similar or better deal. We are at the slow time of year for car sales and the economy is still slow....so maybe....At this time and the way I work my money, I think a lease would work best, but am keeping my options open!:1: |

If the rate is still on, you should only need a VIN# and filling out the paperwork to preserve the better rate (or so my salesman says). Do you have a link to the Honda Financial page by chance? According to Jamie I am likely to have my VIN on Monday the 6th.

| The urban legend says you don't want a car built on Monday morning, Friday afternoon, and the day before and after a holiday. Human nature- what are trying to do on those days---fully focused on the job, or thinking about what you need to/should have done? You needn't worry, though. Acura shuts down for the entire week from what I have read. My dealer has to wait for Mondays to get new info, Jamie has it right at his fingertips, so my instinct is to trust Jamies date.:1: |

Don't worry, you're MDX was indeed built on the 2nd and is already on its way to you. Production on the 31st would have required an immaculate conception... the plant was closed 12/23/2002 - 1/1/2003. Vehicles began being produced and shipped again on the 2nd. Let me know how things go. Your dealer should be able to track it now for you. Just ask them what the "Dealer ETA" currently says.

My MDX was built on 9/11/2001. The potential for distractions causing a flaw were pretty good that day.
It is a wonderful vehicle. Best I have ever owned, and I have owned many.
Don't worry about the build date. |

It appears your MDX has already shipped. Syracuse doesn't have any Blue navi's left for production this month. Your dealer should already have a VIN# and delivery ETA for you. Only your ordering dealer can track the MDX once it leaves the production facility.

Only one BIG glitch with vehicle delivery today - After telling the salesman AND sales manager IN PERSON just EXACTLY what accessories I wanted installed almost a DOZEN TIMES, the Service Dept. installed Running Boards instead of Side Steps!
I noticed the minute I drove up. But they will change them to Side Steps next week, hopefully Tuesday, and they looked suitably embarrassed by the HUGE goof. They will give me a demo car while they do the work AND then they will fill my tank again for the trouble.
Delivery day was MUCH more pleasant than my other visits to dealership. Salesman is very, very nice, just wasn't very informative during the long wait for the vehicle. Sales manager was actually nice today, not rude and caustic. Met the Parts guy and Service guy. Got a very thorough walk-thru of all features of car.
Overall, 99% Happy tonight! |

It is very nice to drive. I just sent you e-mail asking about the wind noise with the moonroof visor. With roof completely closed, it seems like a lot of wind noise from roof. Maybe it's the visor and roof racks' normal noise, I don't know. Also, I think windshield may be creaking. I cannot pinpoint small, intermittent creaking noise yet. Will investigate further...
Running boards will be changed to side steps Wednesday.

| Well I dunno about you but 6-7 weeks sounds optimistic. I ordered mine middle of Nov and it will be built Jan 30th. HUH?! What, am I ordering a Ferrari or something? Give me a F***ing break here. Oh well, at least it's not THAT important to me to get the wheels asap. Still rediculous though. Especially since they build them in North America. If I knew a hot shot that works in American Honda Corp. I would have them slap some people around for me. And take pictures. :D |

| Well, :3: I have to say I love the railroads in this country! My MDX was supposed to be delivered last Thursday, and the railroad reported it as delivered in Albuquerque. Whoops! --the idiots didn't unload the cars here and sent my (and 4 other MDX's) off to god knows where. UPS can track a $20 package, but the F***ing railroads can't seem to track squat! $200,000 worth of cars-where are they? Dunno-not my problem...is the attitude. And I should feel sympathy for the beleagured railroads in this country? Hah! Best estimate is that the car will be in tomorrow and I might have it tomorrow evening or Thursday. :1: |

In the past three or four months, you have spent some serious time looking up all of these orders that the many Acura salesman of all of these Acura dealerships should have been looking up for their respective X buyers themselves? I guess it doesn’t make sense to me given the respective dealerships should be just as willing to look up their own customers build dates and VIN’s as you are and they are the ones getting paid to do so?

You are absolutely right, they [b]SHOULD!, but they aren't (at least in my experience). Jamie helped me out tremendously in keeping my dealer honest. I will post more about this soon, but without Jamie's help, I still wouldn't have a car and would be sitting here thinking I have a build date, when in fact I did not. I think many dealers should look at Jamie's example. They could have far happier customers as well as increased revenues from referrals (what they really care about) all at the same time. |

First, here's the answer to the vehicle location issues...

Your MDX has been completed (1/21), but it hasn't left the production facility. It was schedule to leave today. I'd expect you dealer to have your VIN# tomorrow.
leaseman:
Your MDX is still scheduled to be produced on the 29th. It will assign on the 1st of February and ship about the 2nd. You should expect the vehicle about 11 days later. The VIN# will be avialable to your dealer on the 1st or 2nd. Hope the info. helps.

I'm glad to have been a help to so many. I know it sounds strange, but I wish my assistance wan't so necessary. All it would take from your dealer / salespeople is a little follow-up and attention to detail. I can only hope that things improve...
Please continue to feel free to ask for assistance when its needed. While I can't always assist immediatly because of time concerns, I will always get you an answer to your questions. I hate being the one to have to tell some of you that the time tables you've been told are not accurate. I just hope that by speaking to you honestly, I can make the process easier for you.

Suppose that this dealer has HISTORICALLY gotten an ALLOCATION of 10 MDXs per month. They have a WAITING LIST with 20 people on it. They are PROJECTING that they have entered ORDERS for the first 10 people for Feb, the next 10 for March. You are #21 ON THEIR LIST, and you will get entered for April.
The dates for entering April allocation are probably some time in Feb...
The actual numbers and dates could be off, but this is a simplification of the process.
Another thing to keep in mind, some one else on the list ahead of you MIGHT be 'ordering' the SAME vehicle and "change their mind' SO you could get that MDX...

The dealer is Devan Acura in norwalk and our salesman wasnt sure if was going to be delivered in mid-feb or mid march.
