| Does anyone know if there is a way to adjust the sensitivity of the sensor which turns on the Auto Headlights? I would like my lights to come on earlier. Right now they come on when it is almost completely dark out. |

| Here is a idea put a piece of scotch tape over the sensor, it will let less light in. Let us know how it goes. |

| I feel your pain. Especially considering the fact that if you switch your light to manual mode they wouldn't shut down when you turn off the engine and get out of the car. On my recent trip to Canada, I had to manually turn the lights on in a foggy or low visibility condition since they wouldn't come up automatically. I found better solution though... Whenever I feel that I need lights on, I just throw my cap over the sensor. |

miro,
so you are saying if your manually turn on the headlight and once you turn off the engine and leave the car, it doesn't automatic shut off the light after 13 seconds?
I know 01 and 02 models automatic shut off the lights after 13 seconds once the engine is turn off and the driver side door is closed. I really like this feature. |

`03 Base does, not Touring.
Also if you forget the dash switch for the interior lights ON, or any of them individually ON, they will not automatically shut off after a while either. :3: Even after you lock it with the remote. |

:14: Luckily no. I was loading for a trip the night before, and while going in and out, noticed the interior lights never timed out themselves  with the engine off and the switch on. The lights were just probably on for about 2hrs, battery still cranked easily. |

| The 03 touring model only turns the headlights off automatically in auto-mode, not in manual.:3: |

So.... if I were to somehow fool the sensor into thinking that it was always dark (i.e. dark tape....... or miro's cap :))... I would have always on headlights that would go off when the engine is turned off?
**FYI... I don't have an MDX yet (see sig)... I'm just planning ahead** |

| Thats right! I don't know how cool miro's cap would look though:1: |

Hmmm... that might be the way to go for me (if miro will let me borrow his cap, that is :D). Does anyone think that 'tricking' the sensor into thinking it's always dark will have long-term effects?
My wife's Volvo has an 'always on' setting that she uses and it's lulled me into not thinking about headlights at all these days (she's home with the new baby right now so, I take her car more often than not).
In contrast, the '91 Civic I drive other times (while waiting for my MDX to come in ;)) has none of this fancy, new-fangled, 'auto' stuff (of course)... heck, it doesn't even 'ding' to remind me that the lights are on when I turn the engine off. You can imagine how many times those lights have been left on when the morning ride to work is overcast enough to warrant the use of headlights! :( |

| Warzau, I'll give it a try and let the group know. Thanks for the KISS idea. However, I have some nice caps as well that might work. |

My '03 headlights (in auto-mode) goes off when you shutoff the vehicle and get out of it.
But the sensor is a little weaker in sensing when to turn on even when it is getting dark. |
