Well it finally happened, after four months of zero problems, the stereo (touring) died! I was able to eject the CD's but cannot do anything else! The red blinking light is still blinking, other than that it is DEAD! I'm taking it in tomorrow, I'll let you all know how it goes.

Maybe it just needs to have the code re-entered?
My dealer told me that it may happen once in a while. |

| Fuse 9 (accessories) had blown! Fuse 8 (radio fuse) was fine. Reason for blowing the fuse an old air pump I took out of the closet to inflate my R1100RT rear tire.. Not Acura's fault, they had it repaired in a flash. |

Hey vegas;
gotta tell ya- if my dealer told me that, I'd tell him to put a new radio in-
either that or ask him to have acura corporate put that "special instructions" in writing.

Same thing happened to a friend of mine.
Unknowingly pluged a shorted appliance into lighter socket, radio and trip computer went out. Radio would eject CD's and security light flashed.
Dealer replaced the fuse and everything was fine. I guess fuses do serve a purpose. |

| Does the MDX come with any spare fuses or do you have to go to the dealer or auto parts store to get a new one? |

I didn't find one, nor were there any 'empty slots' where you could put a spare or two.
I just bought a bunch of different values (actually years ago) and make an assortment of the required values- the little plastic cases they come in hold enough- just drop it in the glove box of each vehicle.
When I cleaned out the van before I donated it, there they were in the glove box! :)

The fuse box under the hood has a diagram on it with a fuse puller and 2 fuses marked spare. (I think a 10 and a 20 amp)
I didn't look at the passenger inside box, but the diagram in the manual shows an area marked spare fuses as well.
The slots the spares are in look the same as the used ones. (Can be used to wire accessories?) |
