| I have met with a vendor in Manhattan that will install a DVD video system for $1,650 (flip down 6.4" screen, DVD player under the front seat, 2 wireless headphones, and an FM modulator for sound through the stereo). If any one else is interested, I can call to see if there's room in the price for a "group discount" (but it sounds like a low price anyway). |

Beige_MDX:
Can you find out from your vendor whether they will be interested to offer a group discount and what minimum number of orders they will need?
Thanks,

The system installed is $1,650. I couldn't get him to go any lowerer for a "group discount," but car dealers are charging $2,700 for the same thing. (I searched the net for prices and the materials run around $1,150 and he charges $500 installation).
The system is comprised of: 6.4" flip-down screen, wireless headphones with "auto-off", Accele DVD player (similar to Peripheral Vision MD100) installed under the front seat, and an FM modulator.
I think the 6.4" flip-down monitor is sold by Accele Electronics or Iconn. It has a pretty low profile housing made to be installed in cars with a sunroof. From what I understand there are only a few screen makers in Asia which then sell them to Alpine, JVC, Accele, Iconn, etc.
The DVD player I think is made by Peripheral Vision and too is OEMed to others (Accele, Nessa, etc.). Check out http://www.bestkits.com/Press-2000/MD100.htm.
It also comes with 2 digital wireless headphones (auto-off) and an FM modulator which can send the audio to an FM frequency on the stereo.
When I visited his shop, he was working on a ML320, installing an indash DVD player with 2 screens mounted to the visors, and 2 leather-wrapped monitors in the headrests. It was at least a $4,000 job. He also does a lot of custom work (he had a sweet 'vette with in dash DVD, NAV and he took apart a Valentine 1 and mounted the display inside the rear view mirror).
