Any idea's on the easiest way to replace the fog lights?
1. Remove the 10mm bolt and take lens out from front?
2. Reach in the upper hood and go down?, passenger side easy, driver side a killer?
3. Getting from below?
Just curious to get idea's from others.
I'm leaning towards removing the 10mm screw from front and removing the whole housing. Is it difficult the get the 10mm screw back in once removed? I used method #2 in the past and had damaged a Piaa ion yellow bulb by shortening it's life. I want to be able to get the bulb in very carefully this time. |

The best way is to remove the 10mm bolt, and take out the whole housing. Then it's just a mtter of changing the bulbs, and putting the housing back.

hammerX is right.
very easy to do if you follow the recommended instructions.
the owners manual gives an illustration showing exactly how to do this. make sure you have a long socket.
i've done this already to changeover to 5000k bulbs.
good luck,

I just reached down unplugged the fog, gave it a twist and pulled it out.
No problems at all. |

Doggiedog....I'm with you. When I changed to Ion bulbs I did the reach thing too. It's been so long I don't remember exactly how but I don't recall it being any big deal.:)

| I have done it both ways, the bolt was easier but it is easier to loose the bolt as well. When reaching down you can have some bumps along the way and may affect the bulb. |

| Reaching down on the drivers side is easier said then done! My arm size is about two sizes too big to make it down past all the "stuff" in the way. I didn't notice the info in the manual about the 10mm bolt so ended up removing the battery so I could reach down there. Actually, I wanted to pull the battery anyway so I could put a pad underneath it that helps to eliminate any acid action around that area. Speaking of batteries, have any of you had any experience with the gel cell batteries such as the "Optima" ? I have one in my street rod and really like it so far. No water, no acid leaks, no fumes...you can even run the darn things upside down with no problems. Any comments? |

| I finally got to replacing the bulb and used the 10mm bolt which worked great, but you have to be very careful not to drop the bolt inside the front bumper. I actually dropped the passenger side, but was able to get it fast by pulling out the fog light and reaching back in. Much easier than the reaching under the hood. Thanks for all your opinions. |

| I guess I should have read the manual. When I changed out my fog light bulbs to the PIAAs, I just reached down in the engine bay and took the bulbs out. I think this is actually easier than manual instructions. But I guess this really depends on how flexible your arms are and how small your arm is. |

Thanks for posting the options -- nothing on how to do this in my owner's manual.
I'll cast my vote for the reach in and grab it option Only took a minute:) |

I think there may have been a design change.
On my '03 it was nearly impossible to get to the fog light bulb.
But on my '06 it was a piece of cake! I wanted to upgrade to the Silverstars.
I actually followed the owner's manual (really hate to read it, but this time it was worth it!). What I used to do was remove the entire bulb assembly then bulb from the bulb assembly.
What the owner's manual instructs is to squeeze the fitting on the bulb assembly, remove the fitting from the bulb and then remove the bulb from the lamp.
The manual was correct. Took less than 2 minutes per side.
By removing the bulb housing you do not run into the problem of short electrical wires to the bulb housing. Also much, much easier to insert the bulb into the lamp and much less chance of touching the bulb (a real no no)

Same here. I changed the highs, lows, and fogs in about 5 mins on my 04. Too easy. :p |
