I've had my MDX for only a few days and I have noticed a plastic burning type of smell after driving it and parking it in an enclosed space such my garage. It drives just fine and there is nothing else wrong. I don't see any trash from the road under the car. Is this something that anyone else has experienced as they are first breaking in their MDX?

| I think it is normal to have a smell of burning plastic or greese during the frist few weeks of new car ownership. The reasons are ... During the manufacturing process, it is very common that the factory workers put some marking on the parts and the parts may pick up some dirts or greese from the assembly line, and all the gaskets are new with sealant on them. So when the engine getting hot, it will burn off those foreign material and thus produce the smell that you describe. |

This smell is normal on all new cars. Not to worry.
It will go away in a couple of weeks. |

I thought this was normal for new cars, but I hadn't smelled it this much with my other new cars in the past. I called the local acura service dept and they said the same as you guys stated above. Thanks.
